Configurable authentication
In addition to standard username and password authentication, Signed & Secured offers
three more methods to authenticate the parties receiving your messages.
1. Email-based identification and authentication (EBIA)
In most cases, your existing business process provides an adequate means of authenticating the parties you
do business with. You just need a way to securely communicate with another party, yet be sure that nobody
else eavesdrops on your communications or signs on behalf of others. Signed & Secured's use of
EBIA makes this easy, yet EBIA can be as secure as a PKI
with none of its expense, complexity or hassles.

2. Shared secret
An access code may be specified in order verify your party before he or she can view and sign your documents.
This access code is required only once in order to pick up a given message.
This shared secret can be an account number, pass code, or anything that is known by both the sender
and the recipients. It may be used to tie together a multi-step process, such as a user visiting your web site and then signing
a document you send out, or to assure yourself that the right person is picking up a message if they
have a shared email account.
3. Third-party authentication
Ensure the identity of your recipients by using a fairly rigorous
Experian credit-based authentication check. Signed & Secured
can be licensed with its integrated Experian module so that your recipients are seamlessly prompted through
the authentication process using their extensive credit database.
Once verified, the documents sent can be viewed and signed.
